Last month, I was interpreting at Epson’s Business Partner Conference. It’s a promotional event for all their dealers – a chance for the company to introduce new products and, hopefully, increase sales.
Distributors from all over the world came to the event in Berlin and I was thrilled to be part of it. It’s always a buzz to interpret at big events (there were over 200 people attending) but the company made it even more appealing given the time, effort and expense they’d invested in the interpreting.
The first way they did this? Dedicating an entire day prior to the conference to holding rehearsals for the presenters and interpreters. It made such a difference to everyone involved, taking away a lot of the nerves, ironing out technical glitches and ensuring the smooth running of the event when it was live.
Do you run large-scale, international events?
