I frequently get asked if interpreting on stage makes me nervous. But in fact, interpreters are often not even in the same room as the presenter! This was the case at one of my most recent conferences.
The event organiser allocated a separate room for interpreters; setting each of us up with 2 screens. One was a live feed of the speaker; the second the teleprompter running their pre-loaded script.
This set up is an excellent solution at large conferences, where multiple languages are required.
